Kennerleigh Parish Meeting

YOUR MOST DIRECT CONTACT WITH LOCAL GOVERNMENT

For Kennerleigh residents your most direct communication conduit with local government is through the Chair of the Parish Meeting, John Coley. John receives information from Mid Devon District Council and Devon County Council all the time and holds pamphlets and notices across the spectrum of local government responsibilities. These are available to everyone. You only have to ask.

Information flow the other way, from parishioners to the MP, councillors, councils, and official organisations usually occurs after twice yearly meetings of the Parish Meeting in May and October, often attended by local councillors.

John will call special meetings when the need arises. When shop viability was threatened by post office closure in 2007 he called a special public meeting to seek opinions from the wider community about how to prevent the calamity of the shop closing. That meeting gave birth to today’s community association [KaDCA].
